Mini-Quiz: Water

by Ron Kurtus (6 April 2007)

Take this Mini-Quiz to check your understanding of the lesson material.

1. How can an acid be used to form water?

An acid plus a base yields a salt plus water

You can heat an acid and boil off the water

Some acids actually are water

2. What happens when iron is exposed to water?

The iron causes the water to oxidize

The iron gets warm and then crumbles into rust

The water helps to cause the iron to oxidize into rust

3. What would happen if you burned two parts of hydrogen with two parts of oxygen?

You would get two parts of water

You would get one part water and one part oxygen

Hydrogen and oxygen don't combine

If you got all three correct, you are on your way to becoming a Champion in Chemistry. If you had problems, you had better look over the material again.
