Mini-Quiz: Atomic Weight in Chemistry

by Ron Kurtus (revised 11 October 2010)

Take this Mini-Quiz to check your understanding of the lesson material.

1. What is the atomic weight of the Carbon-12 atom?

Slightly over 12

By definition is is exactly 12

Slightly under 12

2. What is the molecular mass of CO2?

C = 12 u , O = 16 u, CO2 = 44 u

C = 12 u , O = 16 u, CO2 = 28 u

You can't determine the molecular mass because it is a gas

3. How many molecules are there in 2 grams of H2?

12.04 * 1023 molecules

2 molecules

6.02 * 1023 molecules

If you got all three correct, you are on your way to becoming a Champion in Chemistry. If you had problems, you had better look over the material again.
